Currently a teacher, aspiring to be a web developer. I recently completed a full stack development bootcamp through Northwestern University, in order to supplement my ongoing education in this field. That program gave me the opportunity to progressively build more and more intricate sites and applications, while utilizing several different technologies. I have built back end programs designed for database management, as well as front end applications tailored for consumer use.Throughout this process, I have noticed that a lot of my traits have carried over well from the education field. As a teacher, I have to have great communication skills coupled with a lot of patience. I'm also a very analytical, numbers-driven individual. These strengths helped immensely as I navigated through 3 different team-based projects. While each project came with its own set of challenges, my teams and I were always able to handle the time crunch while not only meeting the project expectations, but exceeding them in all 3 instances. As for now, my favorite achievement is our most recent project, GiftHub (https://p3-gift-hub.herokuapp.com/). This website is designed to allow users to easily sign up, create a wish list on their profile, and then either create or join gift exchanges with friends, co-workers, etc. This is an application that I'm both proud of, and eager to continue expanding on as I further my understanding of different technologies. Overall, I bring a lot to the table. I am a hard working, driven individual, who is constantly looking for something new to master. I love working in a group or team setting, but am just as comfortable working on my own.I have truly loved the nearly 10 years I've spent in the field of education, but it's time for me to make a change.
