In addition to general reference duties, I am in charge of planning and providing instruction for the computer classes taught to library patrons. Teaching these classes means that I must be proficient in topics that include Microsoft Office, Social Media, eBook services, computer basics, and trending technology topics. I am also a subject matter expert for the mobile apps offered by our library, which include Overdrive, Axis360, Hoopla, and Zinio. In addition to teaching these classes, I also provide one-on-one sessions to members of the community who may need extra help learning certain computer skills.In addition to my work with technology I am also in charge of updating and maintaining items in our local history collection, assisting with and sometimes running teen programs and book displays, and building our genealogy collection.

Working for a smaller school means that I had many responsibilities. My main focus was to assist students with using the virtual library and conducting research through the use of databases. I also helped students with the writing process, organized tutoring in all subjects, managed faculty development plans, provided virtual library training to new students and faculty, and worked to maintain an organized bookstore.

I tutored students during all steps of the writing process. I also went into the classrooms to assist new students during their first college writing class.

I provided excellent customer service and worked my way up from hostess to head waitress.
