I am a junior studying mechanical engineering at the University of Wyoming. I am currently doing undergraduate research for the university and NASA developing an AI for teachers and engineers. This product is intended to take user verbal inputs to answer questions, do calculations as well as manipulate projected objects in three dimensions. In addition to studying as a full-time student, I am enlisted in the Wyoming Army National Guard. I have been with the national guard since 2019. Aside from the military, I have a few other jobs on and off campus including in a workshop doing maintenance, as a learning assistant for a professor, doing STEAM outreach across the state of Wyoming for the university, and finally as a mechanic and technician for Laramie GM Auto Center. In my current role working for the innovation workshop for the University of Wyoming, my successes have stemmed from essential skills, including efficiency and hard work. I have enhanced my time-management abilities and cultivated a reputation as a major contributor through communication and critical thinking. I am a collaborative team player who is always searching for opportunities to impart valuable insights. With these qualities, I am able to facilitate positive change and impact outcomes. As I mentioned before, I enlisted in the military and am still currently in the Army. They have taught me in many ways what it means to be a leader as well as given me many opportunities to take leadership positions. One such example is I was awarded with one of two Staff Sergeant positions for my job in the state. Another was having the opportunity to be sent to Washington D.C. for the inauguration to protect the president. I have also been awarded a few awards through the military and recommended for different missions. The military has also sent me to various leadership schools to help make me a better leader. At these schools, I was taught how to write professionally, communicate in a professional setting, lead a group of soldiers in a variety of different tasks, and lead by example.
