About Austin Gentry

My education consists of a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. I have worked with university leadership throughout my academic career to secure state funding, develop onboarding processes, and execute significant university events. In addition to my education, I have nearly eight years of experience working on recruiting and retaining students in both Admissions and Financial Aid, where I planned, developed, and implemented departmental and university goals. I have collaborated with crucial university personnel to recruit and retain students throughout my tenure. I have worked in a team and individually to develop communication plans in both print and digital formats to recruit in target markets. While also maintaining a recruitment territory consisting of the university's largest feeder schools and pipeline programs. Once students arrived at the campus, I honed the most significant recruitment events, yield events, and campus visits to increase enrollment and student profile. I have a passion for empowering staff, leveraging administrative systems, and assisting in guiding institutions of higher education to help their student reach their educational goals. With my strong interpersonal skills and ability to not only communicate but execute plans, I feel that I would meet each requirement for the role of Director of Recruitment and Retention.
