Currently working on validating the need for new Web Platform APIs for on-device machine learning, such as WebNN, with a goal of enabling web applications to run models on hardware accelerators (GPUs, NPUs, etc.)- Led the design and specification of various aspects of WebNN, including its tensor representation and how to interleave WebNN and WebGPU workloads- Analyzed on-device deployment processes for models originating in PyTorch, Tensorflow, and JAX- Evaluated and benchmarked frameworks built on specifications such as MLIR, StableHLO, and ONNX- Collaborated with chip designers and ML framework authors in the Web Machine Learning Working Group

- Led development of File System APIs, including the Origin Private File System and FileSystemObserver APIs- Set technical direction of multi-year projects for myself and a small team- Collaborated with industry partners to design APIs which suit their needs and those of the broader web. E.g. the OPFS enabled Adobe to bring Photoshop to the web and is now widely used elsewhere- Editor of the W3C File System Access API and primary contributor to the WHATWG File System Standard- Responsible for all SQL usage in Chromium. Collaborated with the SQLite authors to improve SQLite’s ability to recover from data corruption. Also pitched them on creating SQLite WASM- Contributed to various related efforts such as IndexedDB, clipboard, media, and storage partitioning- Onboarded quickly. In the top 10 of Chromium contributors in terms of commit count within 6-9 months of joining the team
