I will be assisting in the management of approximately 65 existing contractsand conducting all phases of the contracting process in collaboration with project staff and managers, including solicitation, evaluation, negotiations, contract development and post-award management for the Controller’s office. Contract subject areas include, but are not limited to: management and systems consulting, policy and organizational analysis, public finance, economics, auditing, information technology services, as well as software license and maintenance agreements.

In my two year fellowship, I worked with the People's Pathway to provide a fresh perspective and contribute to the efficacy of the team’s work towards advancing racial and economic equity in the five Bay Area counties that the Foundation serves. As a grantmaker, I held the Quality Empowered Jobs and Worker Rights portfolio for the People Pathway. I was a funder collaborator in the Worker Rights Learning Cohort, a bilingual creative capacity space for worker centers to build power and strengthen relationships, and helped to position the cohort for its next phase, as an action network focused on strengthening worker rights and power. Additionally, I represented the foundation in a multi-year effort to advance equity in project labor agreements across the East Bay, working with community-based organizations, public agencies, building trades, and consultants to help produce guidance and build relationships across stakeholders. Internally, I worked to assess and allocate many of the foundation’s restricted trusts for small nonprofits focusing on LGBTQIA, low income, disability justice, and health care. I work in collaboration with the staff team of 3 to train and support Youth Commissioners in achieving their legislative and community-bridging goals by developing partnerships with youth-related government, non-profit, private, neighborhood, and community based organizations. I introduced frameworks and contributed to the youth budget and policy advocacy tool box for our youth commissioners to leverage their budget and policy recommendations with the Board of Supervisors, Mayor, and Department Heads. In my time with the Youth Commission, I strengthened our narrative strategy, built strong relationships with community organizations on transformative justice issues, and cultivated a stronger institutional grasp of a participatory budget process. Public Allies is a ten-month long professional and community leadership development program that encompasses continuous learning, diversity/Inclusion, asset-based community development, integrity and collaboration that has two parts: 1) Weekly Public Ally trainings that lead to multiple group projects over the course of the service year and 2) Full-time practical on-the-job training and learning.As a Public Ally, I received rigorous leadership training, built community through a cohort-based model, and received program-long coaching and feedback on my work and leadership style. I worked on a Team Service Project that partnered my four colleagues and I with Critical Resistance-Oakland for ten-months on the Stop Urban Shield Campaign.During the year, I was the East Bay Program Associate for Our Family Coalition, designing programs and workshops centering LGBTQIA Families in the Bay Area.
