About Austin Zhang

I created Brave Sound Productions in 2020. From a humble bedroom studio for recording my friends, Brave Sound quickly grew into a full-service live event production team performing live sound, streaming, and videography services. I began working with the Manhattan School of Music, Jazz at Lincoln Center, NJPAC, and the National Jazz Museum gaining valuable experience with Blackmagic video gear, Dante networks, AV systems, and more. I recorded many of NYC’s finest jazz musicians including Mike Clark, George Cables, Jaleel Shaw, Carl Allen, and many more during the following years.Shifting away from my entrepreneurial venture, I assumed a role as Audio Visual Manager at Columbia University in February 2023, managing a crew of union technicians, millions of dollars in inventory, and working hundreds of high-profile events. Today, I work as the primary A1 engineer for Citigroup Global HQ Auditorium and VESPA broadcast control room serving Citi C-suite executives.
