I am working to create clean energy from nuclear fusion. As a fuel cycle engineer I am responsible for the design, testing, and operations of processing equipment associated with nuclear fuel cycle. This includes gas transfer, cryogenic, high vacuum, storage equipment.

In this role I developed a liquid hydrogen transfer system which safely and efficiently supplies fuels to large mining trucks. Specifically I created preliminary cost estimates for the project, detailed concept of operations, P&IDs, thermodynamic analysis, and sized various process equipment including pumps, valves, heat exchanger, pressure safety valves, and piping systems. While in this role I mentored multiple engineers with differing backgrounds and experience in process design.

Currently researching the use of hydrogels in an assortment of different reactor designs to obtain ideal conditions for the growth of a variety of cells. With my help, a team of graduate students refined extrusion equipment allowing for a higher yield of viable hydrogel substrate which is used for the growth of cells.

I worked as a refining and midstream engineering intern at the Phillips 66 oil refinery in Ferndale Washington. I was involved with a team of 6 process engineers to help run and optimize the different units within the Ferndale Oil Refinery through the application of engineering principles and best practices.My major projects included:A water balance of the Fluidized Catalytic Cracker (FCC) Converter, Main Fractionator, and FCC Gas Plant. This gave insight of current and historic water flows and corrosion through the unit. Additionally, it gave the company a tool to help improve water separation in the future.Optimization of the Reformer Heat. I created a systematic approach to optimize the heater within the reformer. This allows for better use of the current heater and allows for the possibility of more product to flow through the system. Debottlenecking of the Reformer Feed charge line. I built a hydraulic model of the Reformer feed system and identified reasons for high pressure drop that was currently being experienced. I then provided possible solutions and the benefits of each option. This allows for the possibility of more product to be run through the Reformer which makes high octane gasoline.

*Duration is only during summer months of the year. (June, July, August, early September) Lead a diverse group of carpenters, painters, and contractors in the structural assessment, removal, replacement, and finishing of exterior decks and overhangs. Collaborated with a set of contractors on the painting of households both interior and exterior. Designed outdoor furniture and other amenities out of scrap lumber from larger projects in order to meet smaller needs and requests of the Home Owner allowing for optimum use of available resources. Analyzed, researched, and repaired structurally unsound fiber glass and woodwork on varying watercraft.

Port Angeles Washington

Lead a group undergraduate students of varying backgrounds on the troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical problems on a 6-rotator drone used for ecological imaging of the Elway Dam removal and its impact. Investigated power supply throughout the drone rotors and the ArduPilot Mega flight control system and then redirected electricity in order to obtain an even lift off and hover ability of the drone. Reprogrammed a Canon digital camera for optimum imaging of the ecological area in question while maintaining a long battery life.

Maintain lifesaving and first aid skills in order to provide adequate supervision and responses to events within the aquatic facility. Enforcement of facility rules. Ensuring hygienic standards were kept throughout the aquatic area.

Headed quality assurance of newly installed power and water meters to ensure proper instillation and correct location at 1050 households. Designed excel documents for the City of Port Angeles to efficiently store, analyze and retrieve information pertaining to meter information, current and future power/water usage, and correct billing locations.
