Senior Hydrogen System Engineer

In this role I developed a liquid hydrogen transfer system which safely and efficiently supplies fuels to large mining trucks. Specifically I created preliminary cost estimates for the project, detailed concept of operations, P&IDs, thermodynamic analysis, and sized various process equipment including pumps, valves, heat exchanger, pressure safety valves, and piping systems. While in this role I mentored multiple engineers with differing backgrounds and experience in process design.

I worked as a refining and midstream engineering intern at the Phillips 66 oil refinery in Ferndale Washington. I was involved with a team of 6 process engineers to help run and optimize the different units within the Ferndale Oil Refinery through the application of engineering principles and best practices.My major projects included:A water balance of the Fluidized Catalytic Cracker (FCC) Converter, Main Fractionator, and FCC Gas Plant. This gave insight of current and historic water flows and corrosion through the unit. Additionally, it gave the company a tool to help improve water separation in the future.Optimization of the Reformer Heat. I created a systematic approach to optimize the heater within the reformer. This allows for better use of the current heater and allows for the possibility of more product to flow through the system. Debottlenecking of the Reformer Feed charge line. I built a hydraulic model of the Reformer feed system and identified reasons for high pressure drop that was currently being experienced. I then provided possible solutions and the benefits of each option. This allows for the possibility of more product to be run through the Reformer which makes high octane gasoline.

Investigated power supply throughout the drone rotors and the ArduPilot Mega flight control system and then redirected electricity in order to obtain an even lift off and hover ability of the drone. Reprogrammed a Canon digital camera for optimum imaging of the ecological area in question while maintaining a long battery life.
