Accomplished best-selling author, public speaker, and marketing executive. I have over 40 books published by major houses on a wide range of subjects including biographies of former University of Alabama football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant and World War II submarine ace Dudley "Mush" Morton. My books are both fiction and non-fiction. After a 22-year career in radio broadcasting, I also worked marketing media software with Tapscan and Arbitron, then worked for ten years with Education Corporation of America and their schools: Virginia College, Golf Academy of America, and Ecotech Institute. My book FINAL BEARING was a national bestseller. Its sequel, FIRING POINT, was the basis for the hit movie HUNTER KILLER, starring Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman. My co-author, George Wallace, and I have now written many more books in THE HUNTER KILLER SERIES of submarine/SEAL thrillers. My book THE ICE DIARIES was submitted for consideration for the Pulitzer Prize. My most unusual and inspiring novel, THE SPIN, is now available. Other books include a bio of one of the key players in the civil rights movement in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1963, and the remarkable true story of a WWII ship and her crew that played a pivotal role in the Battle of the Coral Sea. The inspirational bio is titled MATTIE C.'s BOY. My WWII nonfiction work, THE SHIP THAT WOULDN'T DIE, is now available wherever books are sold. My latest non-fiction work includes CHUCK YEAGER: WWII FIGHTER PILOT, which tells the story of how Yeager was a hero long before breaking the sound barrier and being featured in THE RIGHT STUFF.
