UI/UX (Product) Designer and sometimes-Front-end engineer at Files.com.As Co-founder and CTO of my own startup, The Full Package Flutterby LLC, I am also currently working on the finishing touches for a pair of new mobile apps in the dating space in my spare time. I personally architected & designed the two apps, hand-coded 50% of both the front- and back-end, and I hired and managed a remote team of international developers to finish the other 50%. Both apps will be available in the App Store and Google Play Store by the end of 2024Before this, I was working on designing and developing a suite of groundbreaking web-based productivity software with Double Gemini since March 2019, and prior to that I worked as the lead interaction designer at Gro Intelligence, a startup that builds visualization tools for agricultural data, since January 2014. I was in charge of developing a new visualization product from the ground up, starting with data and product architecture, then UX design and wireframes, production design, as well as interactive data visualizations, using my background in development to help build a team to execute my vision.Having worked freelance for several years, developed my own applications, and worked with several startups, I am used to wearing many hats. I'm equal parts product designer and full-stack developer. My work has encompassed many different areas, from graphic design (print, web, identity, environmental) and product/UI/UX design, to front-end web development to back-end web, API, and database development and DevOps—I'm used to doing it all. I provide high-craft, thoughtful design, superlative user experiences, and clean, organized, elegant code. I've got one eye for detail and another for the big picture. I'm an architect by education with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University, which provided me above all with a systems-based, concept-driven way of thinking about creative problems. My published thesis focused on the design of a deployable, recycled, DIY artist collective in the form of a military-style field manual.I also have special interests in:Geology/earth science, linguistics & learning language (polyglot), science communication, open access and open source, history (Late Antiquity–Early Middle Ages), synthesizers, collecting vinyl records.
