My experience has confirmed - and not shaped - my belief: Technology should simplify life. And you start by doing that for the person in front of you, and not by waiting for the person in front to deliver a value to the end-user !Faulty technical Implementation often distorts the perception of the original technology - that's an execution fault and not an error in the technical concept itself. Ex: If you were in charge of rewiring your home, you'd curse - even if it meant your bills were coming down by 1/2, and the ROI was 6 months.Simplification comes from decision-making, which is inherently complex. Decision making often requires brutal measurements; that's where experience comes in. Making a decision necessitates deriving a meaning out of the various ambiguities - and to translating that meaning to a course of action. Once again, you start backwards: if a decision can be made, it has its reasons; if you can make the decision - then you know the reasons.
