The Queen's Baton Relay (QBR) was the hugely successful curtain-raiser to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. As part of the Batonbearer Team for the domestic sector of the QBR, I was involved in the following:• Oversaw the nomination, selection and participation of 4000 batonbearers across 32 local authorities throughout Scotland• Established judging panels for the selection of successful community batonbearers • Engaged and liaised with all batonbearer categories (community, school, athlete, sponsor and high profile batonbearers)• Supervised communications and distribution of uniforms to successful batonbearers• Travelled with the QBR throughout Scotland (for 40 days) managing a team of 10 volunteers, ensuring the best experience for all batonbearers involved
