Average Guma holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Great Zimbabwe University. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Cybersecurity at Yeshiva University’s Katz School of Science and Health in New York City, with a focus on Computer and Information Systems Security, Auditing, and Information Assurance.Before joining the Katz School, he served as a Senior IT Specialist at Zimpapers. In this role, he took charge of various responsibilities, including configuring networks, ensuring network security, managing systems administration, configuring LAN and WAN setups, overseeing Office 365 Administration, leading project management efforts, and configuring firewalls. He is fluent in English, Shona, and Ndebele. Recipient of a STEM Fellowship, Average Guma engages in research on cybersecurity topics, he aspires to contribute to the cybersecurity industry post-graduation, driven by his passion for enhancing network and information security.Motivated by a dedication to enhancing network and information security, he blends his proficiency in information security, cybersecurity, and Microsoft Azure cloud computing. He specializes in designing and overseeing resilient networks, implementing advanced controls such as Azure Sentinel and Firewall. Additionally, he excel in strategic network segmentation and the application of Identity and Access Management (IAM) best practices.
