Worked under the supervision of Prof. Manak Sengupta at Advanced Power Electronics Laboratory, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIEST, Shibpur. My work was focused on an Attraction Type Electromagnetic Levitation Prototype. The whole works were done to levitate a 62 gram iron ball. My task was to make the system more robust and easy to stabilize. I have made several required changes in the set-up to achieve the same. I have also done electromagnetic field analysis of the system using FEM analysis, the study of the control system involved in the setup and it's stability analysis using MATLAB along with the analytical modeling of the reluctance of the system which thereafter was used to estimate the inductance of the system analytically. I have also designed the parameters of the DC to DC Non synchronous Buck converter and studied the behavior of the LDR.
