Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes, especially in the metals industry, such as smelting, casting, hot and cold rolling, and finishing. Work experience includes process control and plant information projects in Spain, Italy, Brazil, Norway, Mexico, Canada and the US, with a 2 year foreign assignment in Australia.Previous Project Experience: •Design and implementation of computer control systems used for energy management and process optimization of aluminum smelting plants in Europe, Canada, Brazil and the US.•Architectural design and leadership of an engineering team to develop and implement a distributed control system consisting of PLCs and SCADA system to operate an aluminum atomizer facility.•Technical leadership of a process control and manufacturing shop floor team responsible for integration of PLC-based control systems with manufacturing and execution systems utilized to schedule production through a smelting and cast house facility.•Development and implementation of process control network security model utilizing router/firewall technology and Windows authentication to isolate and secure process control systems. The model has been successfully implemented in over 15 metals industry locations.•Design and implementation of LAN network topologies for process control applications that utilize dual path routing of fiber to build a high availability, resilient network infrastructure for Ethernet I/O implementation.•Design and implementation of a standard process control infrastructure platform, providing a common network, security, equipment and software architecture used to rapidly deploy and support standard control systems worldwide for a major metals company.•Project leadership for implementation of a Recipe Management and Data Collection System for monitoring and reporting furnace performance for a major aluminum company.
