Oppressed and vulnerable people, and Indigenous Peoples and First Nations are engaged in local decision-making.How we do itWe organize with our grassroots, community leaders, and advocate to our decision-makers on developing local social, political, and economic solutions to environmental and equity problems.

Management and planning, with a focus on climate change related conference and event planning, community outreach and initiative planning, innovation projects, data analysis and report development as well as extensive research with a focus on water. Highlighted projects include:-Engagement coordinator for the Columbia River Treaty Socio-Economic Performance Measures work: 2020-present-Facilitator for the Columbia Basin Watershed Network partnership meeting: March, 2018 -Facilitator for the 4th and 5th Annual Kootenay Lake Summits: October 2016 and 2017 -Supporting facilitation role for Columbia Basin Regional Advisory Committee Meetings: Various meetings in 2017-2018 -Facilitator for the Columbia Basin Water Monitoring Framework and Data Hub Steering Committee: 2017-2020, various annual meetings -Event organizer for Columbia Basin Trusts Transboundary River Conference: September, 2019-Event organizer for the BC Climate Action Initiatives Farm and Ranch Wildfire Preparedness workshops (18 total): 2019-2020-Event organizer for the Wildfire & Climate Change Conference: June, 2018 -Event organizer for the Water Data HUB Conference with Living Lakes Canada: November, 2017 -Event organizer for the 4th and 5th Annual Kootenay Lake Summits for the Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society -Event organizer for the Water, Drought and Climate Change Conference (Hot and Bothered in the Kootenays

Worked on the following for this national charity:-Overseeing the development of the Columbia Basin Water Monitoring Collaborative, including software development, stakeholder engagement, fundraising and contractor management-Operations oversight including, financial management, staff and contractor management including hiring and evaluations, etc.-Grant writing and reporting and program support ($500,000-$1million per year)-Working with board of directors and various steering committees regularly to ensure success of programs-Strategic planning, policy and procedure development and program development

-Supporting the development of relevant stewardship projects (e.g., water quality monitoring, control of invasive species, habitat restoration, wildlife monitoring etc.).-Strategic planning and policy development-Organizing and delivering workshops, open houses and public meetings to provide information and solicit input.-Recruiting, training and supervising staff and volunteers-Budget management, grant reporting, and work planning-Raising funds through memberships, sponsorships, events, and grants-Working with board of directors and various steering committees regularly to ensure success of programs-Website editing

-Attended leadership and facilitation training retreat -Enabler and proponent of the Great Waters Challenge in my region.-Delivered 4 workshops at schools in my community and delivered virtual workshops as needed.-Worked on “emergence” - being flexible and willing to adapt to the needsthat emerge throughout the processes of this role.

Indoor water conservation education program designed and implemented in Nelson, BC.Outdoor water conservation education and research ongoing through the summer of 2016.Event coordinator for the Kootenays first Water, Drought and Climate Change Forum.
