Saw a clear business problem. Performed deep data analysis to assess opportunity, built consensus within the engineering and product team, and designed the very first machine learning system for Twitch's Commerce organization. The success of this project led to multiple millions of dollars a year in additional revenue and the creation of a 6-person cross-functional team of applied scientists and engineers working on machine learning within Commerce. Designed and implemented API improvements which reduced Twitch's average page load latency by 7% globally. This also led to a 21% reduction in CPU cost across the entire Edge ECS container fleet and a 60% reduction in P99 write latency. Built a protobuf plugin which would automatically generate a local developer Insomnia environment to make it easier to test and develop API changes. Tool is now integrated into the company's standard build toolchain.Trained a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) to synthesize Twitch emotes.

Independently implemented a comprehensive redesign of the middle tier for all Bing Local results. This lowered runtime latency, reduced data transfer by over 50%, and enabled the data team to cut data staleness by 80%. Led feature planning to ensure the new redesign would support all requirementsCollaboratively designed and built a system to support enrichment data for Bing Local results, now used by over 10 different scenarios and 3 teams. Generated additional ad revenue, improved Bing performance, and mentored new UX engineers.
