- Evaluation of cognitive, speech, language, and swallowing function for patients within inpatient rehabilitation unit at UAB Hospital- Intensive individualized treatment targeting apraxia, aphasia, dysphagia, cognitive-linguistic skills, dysarthria, visual neglect, and breath support resulting from CVA, TBI, neurological diseases, prolonged intubation, and spinal cord injuries- Collaboration with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, and physicians to ensure best outcomes of treatment for each patient- Observation of FEES and Modified Barium Swallow Studies to diagnose impairments in swallow function, including penetration and aspiration, and recommending modified diets accordingly- Maintenance of appropriate daily documentation of evaluation, treatment, and discharge

- Conducted group and individual therapy for articulation, language, fluency, and social communication with preschool and middle-school aged children- Conducted traditional therapy sessions in 30 minute to hour intervals- Administered and scored language and articulation assessments- Conducted vision and hearing screenings- Attended IEP meetings and assisted in IEP goal-setting

- Provided individualized speech therapy for articulation, language, literacy, and dysphagia with children between the ages of 10-14- Conducted traditional therapy sessions on-site at the university clinic- Documented daily documentation notes, evaluation reports, plans of care, and billing codes using Medicat

- Led group and individual speech therapy sessions for children ages 3-5 with receptive and expressive language delays and autism spectrum disorder- Provided one-on-one therapy to a 5-year-old boy with autism targeting use of AAC device- Gained experience in using appropriate supports, lesson planning, parent/teacher communication, and family education regarding autism

Served as an undergraduate clinician for the HILL Transition Program at Ole Miss, a language therapy program for children with moderate to severe language disorders. My roles included assisting and planning language therapy, encouraging play, and facilitating activity centers fostering art, language, and math skills.

Assisted my professor with a research study focusing on fluency, specifically self-disclosure of stuttering, entitled "The Effects of Written Stuttering Disclosure on Students’ Perceptions of a Child Who Stutters." In this role I helped recruit participants for the study and conducted research in the lab.
