Back to the aviation industry...this time on the manufacturing side. My duties at Cirrus include creating, processing, and receiving work orders for various aspects of the manufacturing process, as well as issuing parts to said work orders as they are consumed. I also keep parts stocked in various locations throughout the facility for use by the technicians, as well as counts of various parts to ensure accuracy of supply on hand.

My previous experience at Northwest Airlines made this opportunity a good fit. as many of the aspects of this particular job were fairly similar. At AAR, I was responsible for checking accuracy of work done by aircraft mechanics based on maintenance programs set forth by Air Canada and United Airlines, as well as entering parts information for components of a particular aircraft. I was also responsible for assembly and sorting of work packages based on maintenance schedule set forth by the planning divisions the aforementioned airlines. I was laid off in May 2020 due to the closure of the Duluth facility, which was brought on by unforeseen events.

I was responsible for the packaging/palleting stage of various types of targets used in deer hunting, such as life-sized deer targets, as well as various-sized block targets used for archery.

Due to being temporarily "bumped" back to my previous position at Northwest Airlines as a result of 11 September 2001, I took this position in December 2001 during the Christmas season as a part time gig, and stayed on afterward for some extra income. After my lay-off from Northwest in 2005, I more-or-less became a full-time associate until leaving in October 2010.

In July 1999, I left mail services to go to work as a Work Control Associate, in which I was a part of the aircraft maintenance aspect at Northwest. My duties included checking accuracy of work cards and tasks performed by aircraft mechanics based on NWA's maintenance program, which, at the time, was one of the industry's finest. I also performed parts transactions for a particular aircraft (DC-10, Boeing 747, etc.), as well as tracking overtime worked by the mechanics. I followed this particular job to the Duluth A319/A320 facility in February 2005. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was laid-off in September 2005, and Northwest Airlines ultimately went into the history books, having been purchased by Delta Airlines in 2008.

I went to work at Northwest Airlines in July 1996, beginning as a mailroom clerk. My Dad worked at Northwest for 42 years, and I had the opportunity to travel often as a child. I wanted to continue my travels as an adult, so I figured I'd try my hand at the local airline. My duties included sorting inter-company mail, as well as distributing the US mail to various departments within the company. I was also tasked with the outgoing US mail, as well as outgoing FedEx packages. My knowledge of city codes, such as MSP, LAX and HNL, was helpful in this position as well.
