Open Networks is one of ENA's strategic initiatives that bring together ALL the network companies to lead the UK’s transition to a smart, flexible energy system and getting the networks ready for net zero. Launched in 2017, Open Networks programme brings together over 200 subject matter experts from network companies, government (DESNZ), and regulator (Ofgem). Working together with key industry stakeholders including industry trade bodies, flex service providers, consumer advocates and academia to develop and implement a smart and flexible energy system.KRA:As part of ENA’s senior management team, I provide programme directorship to help set the strategy for the programme and to deliver it in line with emerging developments across the sector, ensuring that the programme objectives are met.

As a Technical Lead for the Open Networks programme, I utilise my expertise in laying the foundations of a smart grid in the UK. I works closely with the network operators, government, regulator and wider industry in shaping the roadmap for a Net Zero future KRA:I lead the technical development and delivery of 25 working groups constituting of subject matter experts, across 5 innovations themes.I also take a lead in promoting and presenting outputs of the programme across various mediums (Inc. reports, technical journals articles, conferences, interviews, etc).

Offer expertise on electricity network transformation through Smart interventions focusing on the future energy networks. Develop and execute a portfolio of high-profile innovation projects on behalf of UK and international distribution network businesses.

Researcher for the FLEXIS (Flexible Integrated Energy Systems) Project; Part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Welsh Government. Other project association: -'High Energy And Power Density (HEAPD) Solutions to Large Energy Deficits’ project, a UK-India collaborative research consortium consisting of 7 academic partners.-Angle DC Project in association with Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN). Angle DC is a national flagship innovation project involving the continued research of power electronics converter technology (which has been traditionally used in HVDC) on MV distribution (11-132kV) network. KRA:-Plan/manage my research and meeting project commitments for Cardiff University. -Research applications of power electronic devices in MV distribution networks.-Supervise ‘Powers System Protection’ laboratory and tutorial classes for the ‘Electrical Energy System’ MSc and MEng course. -Mentor and guide MSc students for their coursework and research project.

Senior Engineer in the ‘Computer Based Interlocking’ (CBI) subsystem. KRA:-Lead the design and implementation of signalling schemes for driver-less urban-line train movements. (development of track side electrical equipment circuits and hard-wired/communication based signalling interlocks.)-Collaborate with engineering team in France (Principal Design Engineer) ,other subsystems and stakeholders (clients, vendors and site personnel) to discuss project scope, bill of quantities (BOQ) estimation and to clarify technical and commercial contract details.Projects: I undertook two main projects during my tenure, namely ‘Panama Metro (Line-1)’ and ‘Bangalore Metro (Reach 3A and Reach 4)’.

Design Engineer in the project engineering team, part of the ‘Order to Remittance’ (OTR) process in an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) site. KRA:-Develop customized engineering design of power distribution solutions for the Indian Navy and non-standard industrial customers. -Carry out research and product development projects on GE control gears.-Technical supervision for subcontracted projects.-Collaborate with project stake holders; ITO team, project managers, clients, costumers, technical consultants, product experts, material suppliers and contractors (design and/or manufacturing contractors). -Accountable for activities from receiving a commercial order to product dispatch, including kick-off meeting, detailed design, design verification, design-approval, and bill of quantities (BOQ) release. -Technical support for material procurement, manufacturing and testing activities. Few major customers I undertook projects for, include: Indian Navy, GE Oil & Gas-Nuovo Pignone, Avantha Power & Infrastructure Ltd , Tata Projects Ltd, Fichtner consulting.

KRA:-Design and implementation of an ‘I2C’ bus (Inter Integrated Circuit) controller for ‘fast mode’ serial data transfer (complying with the specifications of NXP Semiconductors). -Coding using Verilog-hardware description language (HDL), on XILINX IDE platform.-Verification of hardware description codes, prior to the FPGA implementation.
