This role combined the management of a portfolio of grant funded innovation projects, alongside seeking new funded innovation opportunities that align with the businesses strategic objectives. Dan provided his knowledge and network within the energy industry to explore new opportunities and markets for Kiwi Power. His dedication to delivery of high quality outcomes within time and budget have allowed Kiwi Power to fulfil their project objectives. Dan engaged at all levels of the business, including Product, Operations, Optimisation, Technology (Hardware and Software), Sales, Policy, Strategy and Marketing, to leverage the expertise of Kiwi Power colleagues in achieving enhanced project deliverables. Dan used project and programme management experience to create new systems and processes to support the Innovation and Grants Function. He developed consensus with the Senior Management team to ensure that new opportunities supported strategic objectives.

Dan is a Senior Consultant within the Sustainable Transport Practice. He leads projects in a variety of field including fleet assessment, technology review and recommendations, strategic guidance and policy recommendations. Dan is known for his exemplary project management skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities. As an excellent communicator Dan pursues business development activities on behalf of the Ricardo Energy & Environment. Dan is currently the Fleet Electrification Lead for the business and the Key Account Manager at Heathrow Airport.

I was responsible for the Programme Management of several projects including the design, development and implementation of new IT tools, strategic process re-engineering and supplier collaboration.

I led several projects on the multi-award winning supply chain transformation (SMART) programme. Key skills developed include systems design, development, testing, process mapping and implementation; Departmental process re-engineering; Stakeholder engagement and management through culture change and new ways of working; Design of department KPIs, relationship management practices and reward systems.

I led and supported numerous programmes and projects, the most high profile of which were; 3 integration programmes (including £1.5B acquisition of Somerfield); Leading the Programme Management Office (PMO) within the Corporate function; Leading projects for 2 strategic Joint Ventures in the Group’s Pharmacy and Travel businesses including a manufacturing facility in Tianjin, China. I developed some excellent core skills during this role, from programme and project management techniques through to stakeholder management and multifaceted communications. I was responsible for developing process efficiency, process re-design, strategic market assessment and managing budgets.

The main function of this 12-month role was to organise the exhibition that ran alongside the Annual Scientific Conference. This exhibition generated approximately one third of the annual turnover of the business. Through new approaches to marketing and sales I increased total stand sales at the exhibition to 150% of the previous year. I also implemented new sponsorship opportunities for the exhibitors offering increased exposure as well as repeatable additional revenue streams for the business.
