About Avinash Swaminathan
I am a CS grad student at Georgia Tech, specializing in Computing Systems. I am highly passionate about building scalable, distributed systems that impact millions of customers. My interests are concentrated in the area of Distributed Computing, Low-Latency Networking and Virtual Software-Defined Networks. I previously worked at Atlassian, where I contributed to the reporting domain in JSM and Opsgenie. Within JSM, I was the feature lead for building a highly-scalable, available replication pipeline to bootstrap and event source data from Jira's asset management lake to our internal data platform, Plato. I also worked on improving on-call, observability and alerting practices for Opsgenie's schdeuled reporting domain.I also interned at Microsoft IDC, as a part of the dataverse team where I contributed to schema migration and testing efforts.
