When I came to Canada from India, I was hoping for a good education and good opportunities and that’s exactly what I found. This new country welcomed me with open arms and gave me tons of opportunities to learn and to grow in my personal and professional life.I completed a Business Diploma with Northern College of Applied Arts & Technology in Timmins, Ontario and while studying worked full-time at McDonalds. I started as a crew member and due to my great customer services skills, within a few short months, I was promoted to the position of Guest Experience Leader and shortly after that, promoted again to Shift Manager where I managed a team of up to 15 staff. Following my employment with McDonald’s, I obtained a part-time opportunity and put my theoretical learning from college into the practical world and joined Connexus Credit Union. At Connexus I had the opportunity to work with a great team of financial services representatives. I worked closely with members and assisted them with daily transactions including account openings, investments, deposits, and loans. Being a self-motivated person and someone who learns quickly, it didn’t take me long to learn the ins and outs of this role and within a few months was promoted to a full-time financial services representative. Besides this professional life, I love to read and try out new restaurants.
