American-born, New York based artist Amanda Wall has been searching for her unique voice through painting and drawing for many years, occasionally experimenting with film. A deeper concentration on painting as a primary medium, has allowed Amanda the freedom to paint intuitively and intellectually. Her life-long journey and passion for art led to an ambitious drive to always improve as a painter and seek art world mentors and a diverse community of other creative peers including: artists, accomplished architects, ivy league professors, writers, girl punk musicians, tattoo artists and photographers. Poetry and a rigorous journal writing practice was always the, behind the scenes, secret sauce. Complementing her art practice, Amanda became a freelance art critic for Ideelart.com based in Europe and FF2 Media in New York. Creating awareness and language around contemporary art as a critic, Amanda prefers to shut down the continuous stimuli in her own studio. New work, from 2023-2024, evolved from a period of isolation and a very meditative state, channeling the subconscious. The motivation to combine a need for a spiritual connection with a dark sense of humor, resulted in a sarcastic interpretation of wrestling with one's own demons and monsters. Essentially, interpretation after their creation, resulted in an empowering demystification of inner demons or entities. Amanda challenges the viewer to consider your inner darkness as amusing, endearing and necessary for growth. A grandmother of another artist, at the Clio Art Fair in New York and Holocaust survivor said, " They remind me of old folk tales with a dark side". Amanda received her BFA from the University of Tulsa and an MFA in Painting & Drawing, from Pratt Institute, in 2020. She is represented by Azure Arts and participated in The Clio Art Fair 2024, in New York. No stranger to art fairs, she has been a Sales Associate at The Affordable Art Fair for Ideelart and a Tour Coordinator at Frieze New York. Now an exhibiting artist at Aqua Art Miami 2024, Amanda is looking ahead with optimism and immense gratitude. ​
