Center that focuses on building strong collaborations between Carnegie Mellon University and University of Pittsburgh for the purpose of enhancing brain research.

Worked in the lab of Dr. Aryn Gittis, where I developed a slow dopamine-depletion paradigm with which to study compensatory mechanisms of plasticity under conditions of low dopamine, as might arise in patients with Parkinson's disease. The goal is to understand the progression of changes within the basal ganglia that ultimately result in motor dysfunction.

Aided in setting up all undergraduate biology laboratories, trained new laboratory assistants, and gained experience optimizing experiments independently.
