CurrentTransforming lives two generations at a time. jeremiahprogram.org/fargo-moorhead/Founded in Minnesota in 1998, and now active in five states, Jeremiah Program offers one of the nation’s most successful strategies for eliminating intergenerational poverty among single mother families. Our unique, two-generation (2Gen) service model promotes self-sufficiency for low-income single mother families through education for two generations and holistic support for the whole family. Too often, solutions to address intergenerational poverty among families focus on only one intervention at a time without considering how families’ success is inextricably linked. Rather than programming in silos, Jeremiah Program places the entire family at the center of our service model and ensures mothers and children have access to five key pillars of support: Empowerment & Life Skills Training; Individualized Support for Career-track College Education; Safe, Affordable Housing; Onsite Quality Early Childhood Education; and A Supportive Community. Jeremiah families live on our Fargo campus until mothers earn a post-secondary degree, forming a unique space where mothers can prepare for a career with family-sustaining wages while laying a strong academic foundation for their children.
