Established in 1908, JFS serves people in the two most important aspects of their lives; family and work. David's practice focused on litigation and other problems confronting businesses. His background combines the best of two worlds – legal expertise gained as a federal prosecutor and defense lawyer, and consulting skills gained from Deloitte. Representing corporations and individuals before law enforcement and regulatory agencies.Tax ControversiesRepresenting taxpayers in audits, Tax Court and refund litigation, tax shelter disputes, criminal investigations and criminal trials.Corporate InvestigationsConducting corporate investigations, including as special counsel to boards and audit committees, in many areas including customs, economic and trade sanctions, securities, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and others.Corporate ComplianceAdvising businesses regarding the establishment and implementation of compliance programs to satisfy requirements imposed by the United States Sentencing Guidelines, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, New York Stock Exchange rules and other regulatory provisions.Business LitigationRepresenting corporations and individuals in civil litigation in areas including contract disputes, consumer class actions and federal and state regulatory enforcement matters.

Concentration on criminal tax, money laundering, forfeiture and other white collar criminal cases. Instructed at Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute, training prosecutors in aspects of the investigation and prosecution of money laundering and other financial crimes.

Prosecuted tax offenses in district courts across the United States. Also responsible for centralized review of criminal tax cases submitted by the Internal Revenue Service and/or United States Attorneys Offices.

Concentration on civil and criminal tax controversies, other white collar criminal cases and civil litigation for this New York City-based firm.
