Our Voices: In Reach And Engagement Project Worker
CurrentAs a Project Worker for the "Our Voices: In Reach and Engagement" initiative at Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge, I've had the opportunity to contribute significantly to the mental health and well-being of Muslim women in our community. My role involves a range of activities, all aimed at creating a supportive and understanding environment for these women. Here's a detailed breakdown of my responsibilities:♦ Establishing safe spaces across boroughs for Muslim women to openly discuss mental health and community challenges.♦ Creating and leading innovative workshops such as "Tree of Life" and "Recipes of Life," tailored to the needs of the community.♦ Organizing weekly well-being sessions with varying collaborative themes to engage and support participants.♦ Providing one-on-one, culturally sensitive support, helping individuals access local wellness resources and services.♦ Facilitating the development of 'Our Voices Sakinah' peer leaders, guiding them in delivering mental health workshops in faith and community settings.♦ Recruiting and training peer leaders from the community, empowering them to lead and co-facilitate support groups.♦ Enhancing the capacity of the community to address mental health issues through engagement and education.♦ Promoting mental health awareness and fostering a sense of belonging and resilience among Muslim women.
