My name is Ayana Johnson, and I am a passionate architecture student completing my fourth year at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where I am pursuing a B.Arch degree. Over the past three years at Cal Poly Pomona, I have maintained a 3.67 GPA and been listed on the President’s Honor Roll, a testament to my commitment to excellence in the field of architecture as well as the classroom.During my time at the university, I've had the honor of having my work selected to be showcased in a prominent CPP architectural event, an achievement that speaks to my passion for design. These experiences have allowed me the opportunity to recognize my achievements while also continuing to be an innovative, diligent student in all aspects.Beyond the classroom, I had the privilege of serving as a summer intern at The Neighborhoods of EYA, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with both the Architecture and Engineering teams, contributing to a wide range of tasks that left a lasting impact on my professional growth. This invaluable experience provided me with hands-on knowledge in various areas, including townhomes, multi-family homes, and mixed-use development. This exposure also offered me insight into the practical aspects of architecture and engineering, fostering a deeper appreciation for the interplay between design and execution. Lastly, working closely with industry professionals exposed me to real-world challenges and allowed me to apply my academic knowledge to practical scenarios using programs such as AutoCad and Bluebeam.As I look ahead, I am eager to embrace new challenges, learn from diverse perspectives, and contribute my creativity to shaping the future of architecture.
