Coordinating the implementation of Sierra Leone Sharing HIV Actions, Results and Experiences for Decision (SHARE) Project, the knowledge management component of Partnership to Improve Population Health in West Africa (CPP) project funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group, and implemented in partnership with the Network of HIV Positives in Sierra Leone (NETHIPS) and the National HIV/AIDS Control Program (NACP). The SHARE Project is aimed at generating, disseminating and advocating for use of good practices and lessons learned from Solthis HIV/AIDS and health systems strengthening projects (Empower, Program to Strengthen the Health Systems and Services (PROSSAN) and Global Fund New Funding Model 3) to influence HIV national policy and future programming. Organized project kick-off meeting, with wide representation of governmental and non-governmental actors, engaged multi-stakeholders and identified topics for lessons learned knowledge generation. Co-developed knowledge generation and dissemination plan and project communication plan. Supervised desk review, recruitment and training of data collectors, qualitative data collection through 26 FGDs and 23 KIIs and data analysis/triangulation with quantitative data from 45 health facilities. Produced 3 lessons learned papers, 2 policy briefs and 1 video documentary on how mixed capacity building approaches for health workers contributed to improved quality of care for recipients of care (RoCs) and the positive contributions of Support Groups to improved treatment adherence and retention among RoCs.

-Led landscape analysis for Disease Surveillance and Malaria program portfolios.-Opportunities scoping for new business development in digital health, malaria, disease surveillance, immunization and GBV, as well as drafting of proposals and concept notes.-Strategic engagements with potential donors, partners and governments, including engagements through relevant technical committees/working groups.-Technical support to midterm review of National Malaria Strategic Plan 2021-2025, review of draft National Immunization Policy and Development of National Digital Health Roadmap-Programmatic support to donor-funded Sierra Leone Trial to Introduce a Vaccine Against Ebola (STRIVE) project, including project close-out processes.-Supervised four project coordinators.

Abuja, Nigeria

-Provided programmatic and financial oversight for the $34.4million Task Order 03 contract, a component of the PMI-S IDIQ supporting malaria prevention and case management; surveillance, monitoring and evaluation; and health systems strengthening activities in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ebonyi and Oyo states, Nigeria -Played a significant role in the development of strategies for implementation of PMI-S project at the subnational level in eight Nigerian states.-Co-developed private sector engagement activities in collaboration with Banyan Global-Supported service availability mapping in 1,766 private hospitals, community pharmacies and private laboratories/diagnostic centres in three states-Served as technical point of contact for Task Order 03 consortium partners and co-develops/reviews their technical deliverables-Coordinated the development of quarterly and annual work plans, budgets and progress reports.-Supported the implementation of about 80% of work plan activities between 2020 and 2022.-Provided regular updates on Task Order 03 to MSH global programs team-Supported the recruitment and onboarding of mid-level and senior staff at the subnational and regional levels-Co-prepared Task Order 03 activity monitoring, evaluation and learning plan (AMELP), including inputs into indicators definitions, indicator baselines, targets and performance monitoring.-Supports the Country Director in meeting USAID contractual obligations, including reporting, work plan/indicators performance and other donor and MSH regulations.-Performance managed four State Coordinators.-Co-analyzed the potential impact of COVID-19 on staff and project activities for management decisions and for submission to USAID.-Drafted consultant scope of work for baseline analysis/assessments on malaria, private sector mapping and quality assurance.-Supported state teams to produce success stories and abstracts published at international conferences.

Kogi State, Nigeria

The Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) is a global Cooperative Agreement funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) aimed at introducing and supporting high-impact health interventions, with the ultimate goal of ending preventable maternal and child deaths within a generation. Coordinated implementation of Integrated management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) and Integrated Community Case management of Childhood Illnesses (iCCM) in Kogi State Nigeria, including support for the private sector and health facilities to promote care-seeking for childhood illnesses. Supported the development of maiden Kogi State Child Health Annual Operational Plan and child health component of the draft State Strategic Health Development Plan 2018-2022. Activities were implemented in strategic partnership with the State Ministry of Health, State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria and NAPPMED. At the national level, provided technical input into draft National Child Health Policy, draft Child Health Advocacy Plan and Demand Creation Strategy, and draft IMCI Pre-Service Handbooks.Certified IMCI trainer (including IMCI follow up after training and management of Possible Serious Bacterial Infection) and iCCM based on Nigeria national training protocols/adaptations.

Kogi State, Nigeria

Supported project start-up activities in 2012 and close-out activities in 2016. Provided overall leadership to the state project team and managed state overall budget about $2.75million over the four-year period. Worked in close collaboration with the state ministry of health, health care providers, professional associations, civil society organizations, community structures and other donor-funded projects. Supervised 9 technical/program and finance/administration staff and recorded over 90% project work plan implementation during the project years. Prepared and submitted project monthly and quarterly reports in a timely manner. Represented MAPS in coordination for a such as Malaria/Malaria in Pregnancy Technical Working Group, Health Partners Forum, Health Data Consultative Committee, and Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization Core Group. Served as FHI360 security focal point for state project team and supported the development of state component of FHI360 Emergency Contingency Plan 2015. Participated in the preparation of end of project reports, assets disposition plan and results dissemination.Recorded Improved resources allocation for malaria activities by state ministry of health, from non-release of funds at commencement of project to about NGN10 million annually, creation of a budget line for integrated supportive supervision, procurement of a project vehicle for the state malaria elimination programme, redeployment of additional staff to the malaria unit, improved overall state data reporting rate on state district health information software (DHIS2) from 5% in June 2013 to 75% by mid-2016; improved testing for suspected malaria cases (90%), improved treatment of confirmed malaria in accordance with Nigeria national guideline (98%), and improved use of sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine for prevention of malaria in pregnancy (65%) in 166 supported health facilities.

Kaduna State, Nigeria

Worked with both ICAP and Centre for Integrated Health Programs during the period, responsible for general administration and finances in the sub-regional office. Supervised Clinical Service Officer, Pharmacy Logistics Officer, Laboratory Associate, Finance Associate, and Referral Coordinator. Assessed and activated 6 additional prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) sites. Facilitated TB/HIV integration services, referral linkages between Nutrition Clinic and HIV counseling and testing points and family planning/HIV integration services in a comprehensive site. Activated HIV point-of-service testing in pediatric wards of 5 general hospitals, about 30% of all admitted children who accepted provider-initiated counseling and testing benefited from HIV screening). About 70% of HIV infected infants were initiated on antiretroviral therapy (ART). Co-facilitated training of health workers on infant and young child nutrition, management of severe acute malnutrition, pediatric HIV diagnosis and treatment, as well as PMTCT.

Kano State, Nigeria

Activated 4 early infant diagnosis of HIV (EID) sites under National EID Phase III scale-up plan and supervised 9 EID sites in Kano, Kaduna and Katsina on sample and packaging, processing, and early initiation of HIV positive children on antiretroviral treatment. Provided on-the-job trainings for site clinicians on adult and pediatric HIV management, including on use of pediatric fixed dose combinations, and TB screening among HIV positive adults. Participated actively in data quality assessments (DQA) exercise on HIV, TB and family planning using national DQA tools. Facilitated several monthly M&E meetings to review performance, program progress and implementation challenges. Served as FHI Kano Zonal Office Malaria Focal Person for Global Fund Round 8 malaria grant implemented in Jigawa state. Participated in malaria control advocacy, co-facilitated malaria trainings, and prepared malaria activity reports.

Recorded 90% polio immunization coverage recorded in all rounds of polio supplemental immunization between 2000 and 2006. Co-facilitated training of PHC workers on surveillance for acute flaccid paralysis. Supported sites assessment and establishment of Tuberculosis and Leprosy (TBL) Clinic in assigned local government area, in collaboration with the TBL Control Programme of Oyo State Ministry of Health and Damien Foundation Belgium. Provided oversight for TBL Clinic and participated in community health education on symptoms and signs of TBL, active case finding, and contact tracing.Supervised water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) activities, including clearing of refuse, chlorination of wells, and health education on benefits of hand washing and proper waste disposal.
