I managed a team of subeditors on desk and reporters across four cities alongside editor, generating two daily life and style pages. I coordinated with and pitched stories to field reporters and freelancers, thereby ensuring coverage of latest national and global developments in arts and culture, and entertainment. I edited and finalised content for the pages and liaised with the web team to make print stories appealing to netizens and boost organic reach. I also created content for life and style's official Facebook page. In addition, trained new subeditors on the publication’s editorial and stylistic preferences.I helmed coverage of over six national fashion weeks and worked towards establishing pertinence of fashion by examining how it functions in social and political contexts and as a commodity in the global marketplace.

I wrote and edited news stories, features, listicles and snippets for two daily life and style pages. I quickly developed a knack for accentuating stories with gripping pegs, headlines and shoulders. I worked closely with subeditors, photographers, page makers and graphic designers to collectively enhance the quality of written and pictorial content and design. I established a rapport with freelancers and PR companies to ensure timely deliverance of stories and newsworthy content, respectively. I also drew comparison reports to assess stories published by competitors, keeping an eye out for how content can be improved.I successfully broadened the scope of content, particularly published in the sidebar section of the pages to include DIY, health and fitness, and beauty listicles. I explored the e-tail revolution in light of how Pakistan has grown to embrace the cyberspace and is now pivoting towards a 'bricks and clicks' strategy. On the entertainment front, I conducted interviews of Bollywood celebrities, actor Aditya Roy Kapur and filmmaker Kunal Desmukh, as part of the team’s efforts to enhance global reach. I diversified my portfolio by writing for the National, Magazine and Op-Ed sections. My first National feature for World No Tobacco Day was cited by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. I also wrote on a host of social issues, such as female objectification and domestic violence, and the then political developments in South Asia, including the 2014 general elections in Bangladesh and India.

I pitched stories to international researchers and academics and subsequently, edited and submitted their articles to the editorial team by telecommuting. I liaised between authors and editors, ensuring that writers comply with editorial and stylistic preferences.I successfully commissioned articles on:- ‘Norms, epistemic communities and the global cyber security assemblage’ from Tim Stevens, PhD, War Studies, Kings College London- ‘Japan’s nuclear future’ from Dr Jeff Kingston, Dir of Asian Studies, Temple University, Japan
