Bobby is the co-founder, CEO and Chairman of Tarsus Pharmaceuticals, a company dedicated to category creating medicines, starting with eye care. He is a physician, scientist, entrepreneur and biopharma leader with experience building and scaling healthcare companies designed to improve human health. Since its founding in 2016, Bobby has led Tarsus through a successful IPO, raised more than $500 million in private and public financings, established global partnerships and built a dynamic, award-winning culture. In 2023, the Company launched XDEMVY®, the first and only FDA approved treatment for Demodex blepharitis, a pervasive and damaging eyelid disease that affects ~25 million Americans. In parallel, Tarsus is continuing to advance a robust pipeline of product candidates that have the potential to create new categories in other therapeutic areas with high unmet need, including meibomian gland disease, rosacea and Lyme disease prevention.Bobby trained as a physician scientist, completing his residency in internal medicine and serving as an attending hospitalist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He received an MD from Harvard Medical School (Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology), a PhD in chemistry from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, and a BA in physics from Rice University.He began his biotechnology career at Versant Ventures and Third Rock Ventures, where he was an investor and board observer for a variety of life sciences companies. He later cofounded and led other novel therapeutics companies, including Vibrato Medical and Metavention. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Osanni Bio and as a Board member for Vibrato Medical.
