Developing ML/Deep Learning algorithms for solving Computer Vision problemsIn my second year at BaseApp, I was promoted and tasked with computer vision and machine learning projects • Deepsight – This is a custom product. An SDK that encapsulates deep neural networks and exposes them through an HTTP interface.I wrote the whole application from scratch and trained face detectors in darknet yolo and gender/age classifiers in dlib dnn framework. I’m currently tasked with marketing the product. Skills – C/C++, Deep Learning, CMake• Visilytics – A system that generated retail analytics data by processing IP camera feeds.We performed face detection on the camera stream to get head count, extracted gender/age metrics and classified the faces as staff/customer. An SVM classifier was trained on 128D face embeddings to classify staff and customer faces. The SVM hyper parameter tuning was automated using grid search. This was done so that the system could be deployed in new stores. Skills – OpenCV, Python, Machine Learning• Kyloren – A ceiling mounted camera for occupancy estimation.We built this around NanoPi – an embedded linux board. We used a USB camera and built custom Linux with Buildroot. The image processing algorithms were written in python using OpenCV library. Some OTA and recovery routines were written in shell script.Later on, I also managed to train and run a head detector in Darknet on the ARM core at 1 fps.Skills – OpenCV, Buildroot, Shell script, Python, Deep Learning
