Research associate at the American University of Beirut, working with Dr Rami Zurayk at the Department of Landscape Design and Ecosystem Management. The internship involved two projects: • Researching and writing book chapters in an edited volume titled The Oxford Handbook of Food, Water and Society, edited by Tony Allan, Brendan Bromwich, Tony Colman, and Martin Keulertz. Title: ‘Farmer-led Water User Associations in Agricultural Water Management’ critiqued current policy approaches which seek to engage farmers in managing agricultural water resources. • UN-ESCWA funded Food Security Policy Mapping for the Arab Region Project: Responsibilities included preparing detailed country profiles for 8 Arab countries using a policy analysis framework developed by Dr Zurayk and participation in an international conference held in Beirut to present the findings of the policy gap analysis.
