As a Beach Launch Team member, I analyzed various requirements of an ablative engine. I performed trade studies in the preliminary design phase to verify the solid grain propellant(HTPB/AP) used for ignition. I used Solid Works to CAD model a first draft of the injector plate. I determined if the safety requirements were met for the engine subsystem. This project is in conjunction with the friends of amateur rocketry competition. The mission for this rocket is to accomplish 45,000 ft in altitude with a payload of 2.2 lbs (altimeter). This rocket will have a total impulse of 9,208 lb-sec. The design, functional analysis, and safety requirements are all apart of my responsibilities for this project.

I analyzed and researched the efficiency of organic photovoltaic solar cells. I collaborated with a group of graduate students and my mentor to create a program that will supply a voltage and read a current from various organic solar cells. I presented my research at a CSULB KEMP Energy Symposium Sept. 11, 2015. During my research I performed many repetitious tasks such as running algorithms through an AC Powered Keithley 2601B System Source-Meter. An Ocean Optics DH 2000 Spectrometer was utilized to analyze the reflectivity of the various organic solar cells.
