Striving for Sustainable Development

Promotion and development of Farmer Producer Organisations/ Companies for boosting the sustainable income of farmers through their collective producing, bargaining and marketing strength.

In the refinance department of Rajasthan Regional Office of NABARD, I was looking after the processing of the refinance applications from the District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), Rajasthan State Cooperative Bank (RStCB), Rajasthan State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (RSCARDB/ Rajasthan State Land Development Bank- RSLDB), Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), Small Finance Bank, Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and also looking after their credit profile, Non Overdue Cover (NODC), Default forecasting, risk profile, realistic projected lending plans and asset and liability profile, Statutory Audit statements, Inspection reports, complaints related to Agriculture Debt Waiver and Debt Relief (ADWDR) 2008 package of Government of India, business development and restructuring plans, district/ block specific Area Development Schemes, assessment of unit costs for investment credit in agriculture and allied sector, development of sectoral papers for credit planning in the Farm Mechanization, Renewable Eneegy, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Other priority sectors of the state. During my stint in Farm Sector Development Department (FSDD) of NABARD, Rajasthan Regional Office, I was spearheading the initiative for promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in the state. It was a great and enthusiastic work to streamline the work processes and having direct coordination with Head Office Team, RO Officials, District Development Managers (DDMs), Producer Organization Promoting Institutions (POPIs) and even with the Directors of the FPOs. Selection of the Resource Support Agency (RSA) for training, capacity building and handholding of the POPIs and FPOs in the state. The FPO movement in Rajasthan got a great thrust, focus, attention, involvement and participation from all stakeholders in proactive manner, to build a momentum, which is still continuing. The leading agencies for agri inputs supply were also brought in the picture.

Development of new kind of initiatives within the broad framework of policies designed at the corporate level that could be taken in rural india mainly in the field of microfinance through formal public institutional banking system of the country. Appraisal of project received from credible agencies working at the grass-root level and forwarding them at higher level for their consideration.Developing new kind of programmes for grass-root level agencies to ensure total and all-round financial inclusion at the grassroot level. appraisal of the projects received for the same by credible agencies.Preparation of the Potential Credit Plan for the priority sector in the State, which is used as reference by Banks, State Govt., Planning Commission and other policy making bodies of nationl and international repute. Suggesting the crucial action points for the concerned stakeholders to realise the credit potential of the respective priority sectors. Discovering the path of bringing change in the organisation and functioning of our own organisation as well as the client institutions by suggesting the new ideas and ways to adapt to the changing working climate and the dynamic economic and social conditions of the people, with the ultimate objective to bring positive change in the living conditions of the people for which we are working.
