Managing finance operations across Pakistan, KSA, Egypt and Turkey leading a team of 30 individuals

Reporting into the Global Head of Country Finance Services and managing a team of 10 individuals across three sub-functions. End to end responsibility for Close and Control (C&C), Procure to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash (O2C). I'm also part of the local and regional extended leadership teams and working on entity level strategic projects alongside my day job.

Working as a controller and planning manager for a network of total 18 regional and global sites along with more than 30 supply chain markets. Reporting into the Supply Chain FD for the region Key involvements in:- Supply Chain P&L and BS responsibility- Monthly forecasting and annual planning exercise- Partnership with Regional and Site leadership teams on strategic projects- Driving the cost optimization agenda with sites- Monitoring and optimization of end to end supply chain costs

Successfully lead the GSK / Pfizer JV project in KSA as a a stretch role reporting directly to the GM. Key responsibilities:>Preparing and tracking with the functional heads an end to end plan for a smooth integration>Engaging as the central point of contact between the two business teams prior to official integration>Coordinating with 3Ps and regulatory bodies for product registrations and contractual arrangements >Situation analysis with HR and GM for A&S processes and drafting of internal & external communications>Conducting and leading workshops with central teams for systems cutover milestones

>Full P&L and BS preparation and reporting responsibility to local and above country leadership>Leading the annual 3/1 planning process and monthly performance reviews to above country with local leadership teams>Oversight of the monthly GL closing for key P&L line items and reporting above country>Close business partnership with the country GM / FD for high growth plans and P&L presentations to regional leadership>Strong business partnership with marketing and commercial teams for business strategies>Close tagging with finance director and external experts to deliver on pricing, local legal entity and distributor consolidation projects>Team management and engagement

Responsibilities Include:> Managing the entity P&L for monthly review by region for actuals reporting> Conducting the monthly P&L forecasting and annual planning exercise > Evaluation of Company's Gross to Net Sales ratio for continuous improvement and saving avenues> Providing business partnering to the sales department including cost benefit analysis of new projects and business development decisions> Coordination with the distributors for smooth operations and sales> Aligning and refining sales business process cycles to ensure compliance as well smoother running of operations.> Working for the alignment of process and ways of working for the JV with Novartis OTC and the establishment of the new GSK Consumer Health Care

Responsibilities include:• To compile and finalize Capex annual budget• To ensure appropriate costing of distribution Capex projects and review the capitalization process to ensure material capitalization as per the IFRS• To manage account payables on account of work done on New Connection projects • To carry out material management and supply chain for New Connection projects• To review and update all operating procedures and the related controls for the New Connection Distribution Business Unit and bring them in line with the best practices being followed• To supervise, direct and monitor the performance of other team members of the Department• To develop various MIS reports for departmental heads for performance monitoring and improvement• To liaise with all relevant departments and act as a business finance support with respect to New Connection division

As an internee during my studies, I had the chance to learn the working methodology in an Islamic Banking system, get acquainted with the various terminologies that comply with the Islamic shariah; Mudarabah, Murabahah, Musharakah etc. and assist in the day to day operations such as invoicing, clearing, internal checks and customer care.

Darul Sukun is an orphanage for mentally unstable people of all ages. During my time at this charity organisation I worked with the less productive member of my society and helped them develop into competetive individuals. It was a wonderful experience that instilled leadership and management skills in me and a concern for every part of my society.
