About Bryon Adams

I am passionate about resolving my customer's technical business needs where able, finding the right solution to address root causes where a bandaid is not acceptable, coming up with new ideas to improve how we already work, and helping both coworkers and customers understand the technology we use.Using the collaboration tools provided by Metaswitch I've enabled customers to succeed in and out of the office, understand and simplify their voice networks, install new services to make their work easier, and provide them security in knowing they are being provided a solution by someone who took the time to understand the people who work there as well as how their business operates. These tools and systems together in turn help their customers have a better experience as well.In addition to work, I also help others study and grow in several networking Discords (the Cisco [Reddit] Study Group, Keith Barker, David Bombal, and Jeremy's IT Lab). Please let me know if you'd like to see what it's all about! In my spare time I enjoy going on (mis)adventures to the Adirondack Mountains, playing games, and reading.

I interned at the IT Specialist Helpdesk, assisting the IT Specialists with tickets, documentation, and other projects that were being worked on. Routine tasks included setting up thin clients, and small incursions into Active Directory and SCCM. I also have the opportunity to learn about projects the systems administrators are working on in a very open environment. Additionally, I learned how some of what I've learned in school is applied practically such as LDAP (MS Active Directory) and RADIUS. I also met with a supervisor bi-weekly to talk about how Northern Safety implemented SAN, Citrix, VMWare, and progress on PCI DSS.My manager assigned me to document the setup of the conference rooms and provide instructions on how to use one or both (they were connected). I used Visio to create a map of the layout and created a second page detailing the setup and use of wireless microphones, projectors, and audio. Then I created small cards for each conference room with quick and easily referenced instructions on using the equipment for coworkers using the facilities.
