JB is a passionate advocate for public education, dedicated to narrowing opportunity disparities and empowering educators to thrive in their roles. In his current position as the Work-Based Learning Manager at The Urban Assembly, he provides valuable coaching to school leaders and staff in implementing career-connected learning initiatives. With a background as a counselor in the KIPP charter school network, Jonathan has consistently championed career-connected learning, facilitating professional development and coaching staff on supporting students' career pathways post-high school. In addition to his primary responsibilities, Jonathan assumes the role of Board Chair for The National Fellowship for Black and Latino Male Educators, a program in which he himself was once a fellow.
