Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Monash University ● Used a dataset containing information about sales and the factors that affected sales of a supermarket product to construct a Bayesian network model in GeNIe.● The model was used for generating sales forecasts of the product under different promotion types. ● Our forecasts outperformed the retailer’s forecasts in promotional categories with a high variance. ● Some variations of the model such as the use of dynamic Bayesian networks and the inclusion of expert knowledge were considered as potential avenues of research.
