As the manager of the Cal Poly food pantry garden's I help manage day to day operations in the garden and make sure food is being grown for our student community all year-round.

Cal Poly's Zero Waste Ambassadors play a crucial role in managing waste reduction on campus. Our team diverts substantial amounts of food waste at school events, educates the student body through various initiatives and activities, and collects data to highlight our sustainability efforts.

Researching nitrogen rates on lettuce crops on conventional or organic farming practices at Cal Poly's horticulture unit through SURP

Assistant researcher Cal Poly's Organic Farm (Grimm Family Center for Organic Production and Research). This includes fieldwork, extractions, soil sampling, and data analysis. Conducting experiments: soil aggregate stability, soil bulk density, and total mineralizable carbon through R platform. Along with data collection and interpretation on insect and pest identification and weeds. Studying soil nutrient levels, mineralizable soil carbon levels, and pest and weed management through field sampling, and lab work.

Throughout many Baha’i writings, metaphors of nature are often used to express spiritual concepts:"Sow the seeds of My divine wisdom in the pure soil of the heart, and water them with the waters of certitude, that the hyacinths of knowledge and wisdom may spring up fresh and green from the holy city of the heart." -Baha'u'llahBy incorporating natural spaces into daily life, guided by Baha'i principles, we aim to reignite connections with nature and one another as one human race. As witnessed globally and throughout the history of the faith, Baha’i communities have paid a special regard to agriculture, as it stands as a beacon of peace, unity, social advancement, and reconnection of our true purpose. Baha’u’llah has stated that a “special regard must be paid to agriculture” for it “precedeth the other occupations” (Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 89) and that it is “the fundamental basis of the community” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Foundations of World Unity, p. 37).
