Goal: To help establish community gardens and bring a sense of belonging and connection through nature. Creating organic community gardens is deeply rooted in the Baha'i teachings that emphasize a harmonious connection with nature. These gardens are more than just spaces for growing plants—they are a reflection of our spiritual alignment with the environment, fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world, regrowing our communal roots, and promoting healthy lifestyles. By nurturing our relationship with nature, we gain insights into our higher selves. The Baha'i writings frequently use nature as a metaphor for spiritual concepts: "Sow the seeds of My divine wisdom in the pure soil of the heart, and water them with the waters of certitude, that the hyacinths of knowledge and wisdom may spring up fresh and green from the holy city of the heart." — Baha'u'llah Guided by Baha'i principles, we aim to incorporate natural spaces into daily life, rekindling our connections with nature and each other as one human race. Historically and globally, Baha’i communities have prioritized agriculture as a means of promoting peace, unity, social advancement, and reconnection with our true purpose. Baha’u’llah emphasized that "special regard must be paid to agriculture" as it "precedeth the other occupations" (Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 89) and described it as "the fundamental basis of the community" (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Foundations of World Unity, p. 37). By growing our community through these organic gardens, we not only cultivate plants but also cultivate unity, peace, and spiritual growth.
