CurrentDEME has secured a large contract (1) for the Abu Qir port project in Egypt. The project will see the deployment of DEME’s giant new cutter suction dredger ‘Spartacus’.This vast project includes the reclamation of 1,000 hectares of new land, the deepening of the port’s approach channel to 23 m and the dredging of a turning basin to 22 m. An enormous volume of more than 150 million m³ will be dredged.The marine works, including 6,800 m of quay walls for new berths, 8,800 m of breakwaters and soil improvement works, will be executed by DEME’s consortium partner GIECO, Egypt’s leading marine engineering company. Role: • Responsible for ensuring the schedule, budget and details of a given task are well organized, communicate with various departments to keep everyone on board about any changes to the project plan. In addition, organize reporting, plan meetings, and provide updates to project managers.• Maintaining and updating information and records such as site registers, office management and general duties.• Dealing with queries, complaints, and requests.• Enabling and maintaining communications between project team and the Admin. Department.• Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly project reports and update it on company’s server. • Supporting site management with day-to-day site activities such as booking deliveries, assist with gate passes for suppliers and subcontractors, enter permits letters for logistic items. • Work related to the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) with Navy and project consulting team. • Work related to human resource management, time sheets and workers’ attendances. • Ordering office supplies, provisions, and company’s promotions.
