At GoDaddy as a Senior Manager in Production Engineering, I lead leaders for three distinct engineering groups. My job entails developing strong leaders who create independent and robust engineering groups that disrupt the status quo.I am responsible for the P&L of these geo-distributed teams and their infrastructure. I support a $5MM budget within these teams, and my organization supports hundreds of products and onboards new products monthly. During my tenure, I have significantly reduced our Microsoft Licensing fees within our MSSQL fleet by working with my leader to develop a new chassis that cut our licensing obligations by 50%. We also began running BCP drills monthly to ensure that the business stays functional if we lose our primary data center. This required the coordination of many teams, leaders, and executives to execute.

This role was centered around developing the company's infrastructure to scale with increasing demand. I also took a primary role in documenting the company's procedures and systems for ease of maintenance, and to reduce TTR. While working there I shared an oncall rotation for an operations like team of our engineers. I also shared operations like responsibilities with my team of overseeing our infrastructure's overall health.

In my new position I'm supporting several developers on day to day operations. I'm also building and supporting virtualized and dedicated systems; virtualization is handled by Virtuozzo.While working for GoDaddy I am responsible for 2,000 Linux servers running RHEL and CENT linux operating systems. While managing service on these servers, I also manage their configurations and coordinate change within our environment. I have been in this role for the last year; and have achieved great success in normalizing our environment. I am very familiar with Puppet configuration management, setup, installation, and configuration. This role has also expanded and enhanced my ability to integrate and work side-by-side with other teams within our organization. I am also available on a 24x7x365 on-call rotation with three other Senior Admins.

I converted their network / workstations to Windows XP, backed by a Samba Domain Controller / shared file server. I established a secondary server as a backup / hot spare server in case of failure on the PDC. I am still currently employed by Northern Electronics as a Systems Administrator / Consultant.

At CCBill I worked a 24x7 on call rotation, and support two sets of developers domestically and internationally. Often I am tasked with spec'ing out High Availability systems and implementing them. Some of these systems include: Apache / Tomcat servers and MySQL clusters. I work with a variety of software environments on a daily basis as well; including perl, java (jdk, jre), ruby, ActiveMQ, BIND, Qmail, and Linux. My position requires me to be a strong administrator capable of multi-tasking and being self-motivated; I believe I fulfill those requirements more than satisfactorily.
