Charleston, South Carolina Area

Led a team that provided automation solutions to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy office. This electronic automation technology provided DLA with critical control and management of all Department of Defense fuel reserves and saved the government thousands of hours of operational labor costs per year. The team consisted of 45 government engineers, technicians and specialists along with over 150 industry experts who installed and maintained over 33,000 pieces of fuels automation equipment at 440 bases world-wide. Also served as Chair of the SPAWAR Atlantic Sub-Portfolio Lead/ Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead Council. Represented the 170 member Council to SPAWAR Atlantic leadership. Conducted monthly Council meetings to provide communication, networking opportunities and feedback to Command leaders.

Stuttgart Area, Germany

Led the SPAWAR European Office in executing projects that were instrumental in the continued operational capability of the U.S. European and U.S. Africa Commands. Oversaw tasking spanning 6 IPTs from 3 diverse SPAWAR Portfolios. During this period, the SPAWAR European team successfully installed the entire base-wide IT infrastructure (outside plant to desk-top) for the newly formed U.S. Africa Command, implemented a state-of-the-art Command Center for the U.S. European Command and provided knowledge management solutions to key military directorates. In addition, oversaw the SPAWAR Internet Café Program (ICP) that, at its peak in 2011, had deployed over 1000 satellite cafes for the morale and welfare use of troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and other locations.

Program Manager for Anti-terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) programs with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. Managed project cost, schedule and delivery for physical and electronic security efforts that increased protection for service members while reducing long-term manpower requirements at facility gates, buildings and Emergency Operations Centers. Saw rapid return on technology investment based on savings in operational labor costs.

Charleston, South Carolina Area

Served as a first line Engineering Supervisor for two different Branches within the Intelligence and Information Warfare Department. Supervised over 20 engineers and technicians in developing and implementing secure IT networks and protected distribution systems for the U.S. Navy and DoD intelligence communities. Also supervised teams in designing and installing electronic security systems for the protection of classified facilities.

Frankfurt Am Main Area, Germany

Systems Engineer and Project Manager for a variety of electronic security systems projects supporting the U.S Army, U.S. Air Force, NATO and the U.S. State Department. These Cold War efforts provided the highest level of protection for NATO weapons storage areas, military facilities and State Department sites throughout Europe. In 1992-1994, was project manager for new construction and renovation projects at DoD Dependent Schools and U.S. military barracks in Germany. From 1995 through 1996 was head of the Architect-Engineer Contracts Section, managing the entire A-E Design solicitation and selection process for the Europe District, dealing with both U.S. and European firms.
