During my research internship at Prof. Dr. Oscar Gelderblom's Social History of Finance research group, I studied the discounting facilities of the National Bank of Belgium in the decades after its founding in 1850.

In my role as Secretary of the Supervisory Board, I manage direct communication between ACE and its Alumni, and minute our internal meetings and those with the 40th Board. Additional tasks include supervising and enforcing the Board's and committees' compliance to the statutes and regulations as well as archiving the Supervisory Board's documents.

Being the Treasurer of the Board meant managing the finances of ACE, ranging from drawing the annual budget and writing a financial year report to greenlighting major committee expenses. Additionally, I worked on procuring subsidies for specific committee events and led the effort to implement WBTR in our association. During this year I learned how to operate in a close-knit team, how to communicate effectively with my colleages and committees, how to cautiously balance a budget in uncertain times and how to transparently communicate the resulting budgetary changes with our major subsidisers.

As Fleetoperator Plus, I work on weekenddays to guarantee Amber's customers their planned and unplanned trips. During a typical shift I direct my colleagues to move cars to where they are needed, answer customers' calls and respond to feedback. This position has taught me to envision long-term plans, to anticipate sudden events and change my planning accordingly, and to concretely communicate these plans with my colleagues and, if applicable, customers.

As a Fleetoperator at Amber I was sent onto the (rail)roads to move Amber's electric cars from spots where they were redundant to where they were needed. My responsibilities were to get cars on location in time, clean these cars when necessary, keep an eye out for irregularities and represent Amber on the road.

As a student mentor, I helped freshmen kick off their student life in Rotterdam. We began with introductory sessions and moved onto introducing them to Rotterdam's student life by visiting a pub and by explaining the different associations. On top of that, we held sessions on academic writing and presenting, and helped the students out with feedback on their first paper.
