This is my home - where I can see my past, present, and future. My name is Tim Baker your Franklin County Clerk. Generations of my family have called Franklin County home, our roots here run deep.I have a passion for this county like no other and only want good government for its citizens. I believe local government works best when it answers to the people they represent. Our system isn’t perfect, but we the people have the power to make it better. The clerk’s office is best known for being the chief election officer of the county. The legitimacy of our republic comes from the knowledge that every registered voter has an equal say in the elections - it's the foundation of our entire political system. My staff and I have done a tremendous job in seeing that our elections have run smoothly and honorably. We will continue to protect the good that has been built and bring about positive change for the future where needed.The election, while an important part, isn't all there is for the clerk to do. Another important part of the job is business management.This is an area of great strength for me. Every piece of paper, in one way or another, crosses my desk - and the buck always stopped at me. Voters can count on my expertise to run this part of the county's business with efficient leadership.I was taught to work hard - on my family's farm and in local, family business. In my mind, if you’re not 15 minutes early you're late, when you shake someone's hand, look them in the eye and give them your word it means something. As your Clerk, I will work hard, show up early and keep my word.
