CurrentResponsibilities Include:- Managing the Structural Engineering Unit of the City Projects Office (BCC) by taking full responsibility for the professional services and business management activities of the Unit.- Managing the delivery of structural engineering services, including design, documentation, investigation, inspection and certification.- Scrutinising the engineering solutions developed and proposed by the unit in a view to promote and adopt innovative, cost effective, safe and practical solutions in the delivery of quality public infrastructure projects. - Leading the structural engineering investigations, feasibility studies and design concepts in order to provide the best advice to our clients on various options available to them.- Authorising all professional work undertaken by the unit and accepting full responsibility for their quality and delivery.- Establishing policies and procedures to ensure high standards of services are developed and maintained.- Supporting the ongoing development and maintenance of the third-party accredited Quality Assurance System by developing new and updating existing work procedures and participating in the internal and external quality audits.- Developing and maintaining product area professional and technical capability by arranging and encouraging suitable professional development for the team members.
