I write, speak, and advise on geopolitics, how leaders make foreign policy decisions, great power politics, security in NATO’s Eastern Flank (from Baltics to the Black Sea) and the best ways of thinking about and preparing for the future - geopolitical forecasting and strategic foresight.Currently, I am Senior Fellow and Director of the Transatlantic Program at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University, and expert forecaster and Senior Consultant for Good Judgment, Inc, a geopolitical forecasting company based in NY. I was a "Superforecaster" in the US intelligence community (IARPA) sponsored geopolitical forecasting competition Good Judgment Project.I published several academic articles and book chapters and my public commentary appeared in The Globe and Mail, National Post, Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, Inside Policy and other media outlets. I am a regular contributor to CBC News, CTV News, Global News, and various radio shows. I teach graduate-level courses on Transatlantic security, geopolitical forecasting, strategic foresight, and global catastrophic and existential risks. I also give keynote addresses and facilitate workshops on forecasting and strategic foresight for a wide variety of organizations across the globe.
