I was raised in a rural community west of Detroit by well-educated parents that elected to work jobs that were well below their qualifications. These circumstances made my upbringing a unique experience, but one that provided me with ample opportunity to learn and cultivate diverse interests. From an early age I displayed aptitudes for mathematics and the sciences, and chose to study chemistry throughout my college education. In the course of my studies I was fortunate to function as both an instructional and research assistant. It is from these experiences that I gathered what I consider to be the most valuable tools in my collection; the abilities to methodically analyze problems and consistently work to develop creative solutions.Prior to my senior year, my significant other was accepted to graduate school. With this exciting news, I found myself in need of consistent full-time employment to support their new educational pursuits. In my search I stumbled across a position with a telecommunications construction company and, being intrigued, I applied. I began in an entry-level position but was quickly recognized by supervisors and was subsequently provided with several opportunities for advancement. These culminated with my current position, where I function as a Project Manager for the same employer. My career thus far has afforded me many occasions to learn from a wide range of working professionals, and to actively participate in varying phases of diverse scopes of work. These experiences allowed me to prove my leadership capabilities, and to demonstrate the value of the tools I gathered throughout my life in real-world applications. More than anything else, however, my collective experience has shown me that I am capable of success in whatever I choose to pursue.
